**New this school year

  • Students will need their ID for attendance in GISA classrooms in Clark State buildings (R 226, R 230, LRC 123, LRC 130, and LRC 136) as well as attendance in/out of our new building (Upper Academy Campus).

Continuing this school year:

  • Student ID - students tap-in each day when they arrive at school. Also, students can use their ID card in the cafeteria

  • Cell Phone Rule - students are not permitted to have their cell phones out during the school day.

  • Digital Pass System - students will be using their ID for our digital pass system, in addition to tapping in each day for attendance (both campuses).

Transportation - parents don’t forget to contact your District of Residence’s (DoR) Transportation Department if your student is going to rely on their bussing to get to GISA each day. We have no control over that and can’t usually help out at all. We are hearing that a lot of districts are not automatically assuming that students who attend GISA need bussing. We would advise that you reach out to your DoR transportation department and talk to them to confirm.

School Lunch - We are excited to announce that we are providing our own food service this year!! 🎉🎉

The best part about this, especially for parents, is that you only need one PaySchools account.

If you're returning, then you already have a GISA PaySchools account, and you may access your account by clicking here.

If you're new to GISA this year, you will need to create a PaySchools account by clicking here. This is where you will add money to your students lunch account, pay school fees, and complete the Free-Reduced Meal Application.

**Those that qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch fees will receive either a waiver for GISA School Fees, or a reduction in those fees, depending on your status. We encourage all families to complete the application. The application can be completed in your PaySchools account.

Learning Management System (LMS)

This year, we are excited to announce that we will use Canvas as our LMS. More info will come out as we get closer to school starting. We will no longer be using Otus.

Canvas has an excellent app for parents. Please download that app and use your login credentials (after you've created your account) to monitor your student's academic progress and stay up on events at Global Impact.

Other Important Reminders:

  • You must call your student's absence in each day (937) 328-6600.

  • Part of each student's school fees ($250), is a $50 Tech Leasing Fee. This fee must be paid for students to be able to take home their school-issued MacBook, once issued. We will be distributing laptops once school starts (with the exception of students taking CCP classes that start before our start date).

  • Students may not need many supplies because of the school-issued MacBook. However, all students may need a few general supplies such as pens, pencils, folders, and lined paper. We do recommend that every student purchase two black composition notebooks. We also encourage students to purchase a backpack with a protective laptop sleeve. However, we do have some laptop carrying cases available upon request.

  • Our Nurse will be at Open House to take student prescription medications and to discuss any other student health questions that families may have.
